Using a distribution list is the best way we can communicate without leaving others off the distribution list. You do not need a YAHOO! account to use the mail list and it only takes about 1 minute to join the group.
To join the volunteer group, simply send an email (with nothing or anything in it) to:
gsrgroup-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
To join the core management group (those who regularly attend the meetings), send an email to:
gsrcore-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
You will receive a response from YAHOO! asking you to verify your request. Click the link in the email you receive back.
On that page, click the words "JOIN THIS GROUP" if you have a YAHOO! account. If not, click the words at the bottom of the page for "Join the mailing list".
If you are prompted for why you want to join, simply tell us a little about yourself (1 or 2 sentences) such as what state you live in, what your interests are, or what your experience with railroading is.
If you want to get a YAHOO account, you will be able to see the uploaded documents, a calendar of events (future use), and a few other administrative items. You will also be able to change the preferences on how often you receive emails. If you opt for getting a YAHOO account, you do NOT need to use their email system - you will be able to use your own. A YAHOO account is free. You do NOT need to get the YAHOO tool bar or sign up for anything.
