Much time and effort is expended to keep a non-profit scenic railroad
operational. However, the Zanesville and Western Scenic Railroad has
the volunteers, enthusiasm, and leadership to keep us successful. Your
organization or business can be part of our winning team by becoming a
business sponsor. Below are the various ways we have thought of to get
your business involved. Contact the president at bill.ratz@zwsr.org for information
or to suggest other ways you feel you can assist the railroad. As a
reminder, we are a 501(c)3 organization.
| General Sponsors |
$75/year |
General sponsors are typically smaller organizations who wish to
provide some financial assistance to the railroad.
The
organizations name and contact information will be on all
newsletters and in literature provided to the general public in the
station house. When contracted work is needed, the railroad
will look to sponsoring organizations before soliciting bids from
non-affiliated organizations. General Sponsors will be
provided 1 vote at general meetings. A maximum of 100 general
sponsors will be allowed. |
| Newsletter Sponsor |
$250/year |
A single organization will be solicited as the newsletter
sponsor. In addition to the benefits of General Sponsors, the
Newsletter Sponsor's name will appear on the front page of every
newsletter. The Newsletter Sponsor will be provided 1 vote at
general meetings. |
| Associate Rolling Stock Sponsor |
$350/year |
Each piece of rolling stock (also known as a railroad car) and
each locomotive will have up to 5 Associate Rolling Stock Sponsors.
In addition to the benefits provided to General Sponsors, your
organization's name will appear on a plaque on the outside and
inside of the car you sponsor. Associate Rolling Stock
Sponsors will be provided 1 vote at general meetings. |
| Website Sponsor |
$300 - $800 / year |
A single sponsor will be solicited for assisting with the
creation, maintenance, and upkeep in regards to the website. It is
our hope that a local web development company steps forth to fill
this role, however, any company may be the website sponsor by
contributing the full cost of the website updates each year.
In return, the website sponsor will be provided 1 vote at general
meetings and have their information on the bottom of each webpage. |
| Building Sponsor |
$350-$3,000/year |
A single sponsor will be solicited for each building on the
railroad. In addition to the benefits of a General Sponsor,
the organizations name will be placed on a plaque on the site of the
building. The building will be named similar to "The Organization's Name Scale House". The cost of being a
Building Sponsor is based on the square footage of the building.
A Building Sponsor will be provided 2 votes at general meetings. |
| MOW Car Sponsor |
$500/year |
Maintenance equipment (such as brush cutters, hyrail trucks,
trailers, and ballast cars) are needed to keep the railroad
operating. A single sponsor for each piece of maintenance
equipment will be solicited each year. In addition to the
benefits of a General Sponsor, you will have your organizations name
placed on the side of the MOW equipment for all to see. The
equipment will be named similar to "The Organization's Name Brush Cutter". MOW Car Sponsors will receive 2 votes at all
general meetings. |
| Volunteer Sponsor |
$1,000 - $2,500 (see description) |
The Volunteer Sponsor is typically a large local organization
who relies on name recognition to increase their business. In
return for the organization purchasing an embroidered shirt for each
active volunteer of the railroad, the organization's name and
website will be embroidered on a sleeve of the shirt. New
shirts will be ordered as they wear out, thus your donation may
easily be visible to customers for 5 or more years. A
Volunteer Sponsor will be provided 2 votes at general meetings for
such time as new shirts are not needed. In addition, they will
receive the benefits of a General Sponsor for the same time period. |
| Primary Rolling Stock Sponsor |
$3,000/year |
A single Primary Rolling Stock Sponsor will be solicited each
year for each railroad car in operation. In addition to the
benefits provided to General Sponsors, your organization's name will
be painted on the equipment you sponsor. You will be given the
right to use the railroad's name and likeness in your own
advertising (pending review and approval by the railroad's board).
The car will be named similar to "The Organization's Name Caboose". Primary Rolling Stock Sponsors will receive 2 votes
at general meetings and 1 free afternoon or evening charter.
Up to 10 members of your organization will be given complementary
Associate Member status. |
| Locomotive Sponsor |
$6,000/year |
A single sponsor will be solicited for each locomotive. In
addition to the benefits provided to a Primary Rolling Stock
Sponsor, your organization will receive an invitation for a full 1
day charter of the train. Up to 20 members of your
organization will be given complementary Associate Member status. |
